Dear Lisa,

Thank you so much for visiting Lakeville School! Our first graders love hearing how you ceate your illustrations and seeing the actual items used in the pictures. Helping you to create the "Twin" drawings inspired quite a few of them to create their own art. I really appreciated how each presentation was a little different, based on the questions and interests of the students.

It was a great day and we can't wait to have you back!

Dear Ms. Desimini,

Thank you for visiting our school. We enjoyed watching you draw "A Happy House". It was cool to hear how you make computer art. We really liked your sculpey turtle and face. It was fun to learn how you use things like rice for rain, a potato for a sleeping dad, and cotton balls for clouds. All your cut-outs were great. We love your books. Keep writing!

Sincerely,

Your friends in Mrs. Duncan's class, Southbury CT

On behalf of more than one thousand students in grades K-6 who heard you speak at Hampton Bays Elementary School, I'd like to say a big "thank you". Our school couldn't have wished for a better Vsiting Author/Illustrator. The children loved listening to you read "Trick-or-Treat, Smell My Feet!" and learning about how you write and illustrate your books. The older children really responded to your interactive "illustrating a poem" exercise. And all the children enjoyed watching you create an illustration based on their suggestions. You really got their creative juices flowing. We wanted you to know that your signed creations now hang proudly in our library as a lasting memory of your visit. You have a special gift for inspiring children to reach for their dreams.

Best,

Aimee Fitzpatrick Martin, Hampton Bays NY

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for spending the day with us and for bringing such excitement to our library. Our second and third graders were captivated by your enthusiasm, expertise and your wonderful stories. It was obvious to us all the love you have for your craft as well as your love for children.

Your presentation made the abstract process of creating a published work "real" for our students. Many aspiring writers and illustrators left you eager to create works of their own!

Thanks again!

Students at The Las Vegas Day School enjoyed Ms. Desimini's presentation and her attention to their questions and curiosity about her work. Ms. Desimini's ability to charm the students with her explanation of the creation of her art encouraged students to look at the creative process with different eyes. They especially enjoyed learning about computer art, scanning materials into the computer, manipulating them and using art and computer skills to produce illustrations.

Perhaps, the favorite part of the presentation was the drawing she made using students suggestions. As she asked students for ideas they responded with sometimes very imaginative suggestions and the result was a truly one-of-a-kind picture.

As the coordinator for the S.P.I.C.E Program (Special Projects in Creative Expression) at the Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School, it was my job to seek outstanding presenters of The Arts. We wer honored and delighted to have Lisa Desimini come to our school and conduct 12 interactive workshops with the 3rd graders.

Each and every class was buzzing with excitement and creativity. Their work was detailed, layered and for many, symbolic snapshots of their lives. Ms. Desimini's ability to communicate her experience and knowledge to the students was illuminated with enthusiasm and perception. The students experienced the art of collage like never before,

Sincerely,
